The last day of the month was also the day for #BellLetsTalk. Thousands have joined the movement, recognizing how important it is to talk about mental health. I’m proud that the Region of Peel is dedicated towards breaking the stigma and encouraging the dialogue, which is crucial for a healthy community.

The start of February means the launch of Black History month, which took place at City Hall this week. The celebrations were made extra special by the students from Castlemore College, through their performance. A job well done!

Has the winter weather got you thinking about sunshine and warmer days? They’re not that far now, which means it’s time to start thinking about what your children and the rest of your family with be doing for recreation. The 2018 Spring and Summer Recreation Guide is out:

The City of Brampton will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the future community centre at the Riverstone Clubhouse and how it will benefit our community:

Staff will be available to tour the facility with interested residents, highlighting the various planned amenities to be offered and renovations to be executed. In addition, our Commissioner of Community Services will be available and ready to answer any and all questions that residents may have.

The sessions will be held at Riverstone on February 15, 2018 as follows: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

This is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the project. I hope that you are able to attend and see the facility.

I look forward to spending quality time with my family this weekend and hope you have the chance to do the same.

Stay safe and have a great weekend, Brampton!
