Our Vision

A Place Where Everyone Knows Your Name

Our Mission

To inform and educate the Professor’s Lake Community on matters of common interest.

Professor’s Lake Residents’ Association

Welcome to the Professor’s Lake Residents’ Association (PLRA) website. Here you will find information about the Association, ongoing activities and upcoming events of interest to all residents living on or near Professor’s Lake. It is also a place where you can share your thoughts and ideas on how to make our community the most desirable place to live in Brampton. We hope you will visit often and we invite you to contribute photos, stories and news items of interest to your neighbours. Feedback is always welcome.

The PLRA comprises all residents living in the roughly 800 homes located in the area bounded by Bramalea Road, Bovaird Drive, Torbram Road and North Park Drive. At the urging of Regional Councillor Gael Miles and City Councillor Pat Fortini at a meeting of residents held in the fall of 2016, a group of residents self-identified as being willing to form a committee to lead the Association. This ad-hoc Leadership Group (LG) meets monthly to further the interests of the Association and plan activities that will strengthen the feeling of community among the membership. LG meeting dates/times/locations can be found here on the website, along with the minutes of past meetings. Anyone can attend any LG meeting.

The mission of the PLRA is “To inform and educate the Professor’s Lake Community on matters of common interest.”
Our vision is “To be a vibrant community where everyone knows your name.”
Our strategy is “To create events that attract and connect residents.”

Please note that while the PLRA can be a collective voice of the membership in working with the City on issues of concern to the Professor’s Lake community, we are not the means or the vehicle to deal with complaints about property standards or other matters that are normally covered by City of Brampton bylaws. The City of Brampton website is where you will find many useful links for matters outside the purview of the PLRA.

The PLRA By-Laws can be found here.
