What recreational facilities are available at Professor’s Lake?
The Professor’s Lake Recreation Centre has a sandy beach for swimming where lifeguards are on duty during operating hours. A waterslide is also available. In addition, the boathouse rents canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards and windsurfers. More information is available here.

Are motorized boats permitted on the lake?
No, motorized boats are NOT permitted. The Recreation Centre has two Zodiac boats that patrol the lake and offer rescue services as required.

Can I use my own recreational watercraft on the lake?
Yes, there is a dock and boat launch at the Recreation Centre that is accessible via the boathouse. There is a daily fee for use of private watercraft, but seasonal permits are available. Note that Transport Canada water safety kits are required for all watercraft.

Can residents who live directly on the lake launch private watercraft from their properties?
Yes, residents living in the 33 homes whose properties abut directly on the lake may launch watercraft from their back yards. However, permits (daily or seasonal) are still required and may be obtained from the boathouse upon proof of residency in one of the noted properties.

Is bicycling permitted on the walkway around the lake?
Yes, bicycles can share the pathway around the lake as long as they adhere to the speed and safety rules as applicable to any cycling paths in Brampton. Remember, pedestrians always have the right of way.
